My favorite action movie of all time is Terminator 2 – Judgement Day. It is set in the early 1990′s when two Terminators are sent back through time. One terminator(played by Arnold Schwarzenegger) is an earlier model that was sent to protect the leader of the rebellion, John Conner, who is just a teenage boy at the time. Another Terminator, who is quite a bit advanced, a liquid metal alloy, was sent to kill the teenage John Conner in order to change the future and make sure that there is no rebellion.
The teenage John Conner is a rebellious kid who steals money from ATM machines and whose mother has ended up in a mental institution due to her not being believed that there was a Terminator sent back in time in the previous move(Terminator) to kill her. Since she was not believed, she was sent to a high security level institution.
The teenage John Conner realizes that the older model Terminator is trying to help him, because in the future, the Terminator was programmed by him to go back in time to protect him. A very confusing idea to think about if you want to spend the time, but a great movie to watch on Direct TV.
John and the Terminator break John’s mother, Sarah Conner out of the institution in order to have her help save the world from being destroyed by the automated machines of the future.
Recently, I watched the movie ‘Independence Day’ on directv. The movie has many big name actors, including Will Smith as Captain Steven Hiller, Bill Pullman as President Whitmore, Jeff Goldblum as computer geek David Levinson.
I love this movie. In the beginning, there are a few signs that something is happening. A slew of technical equipment shows an object in space that is slowing down. Soon, televisions stations are flickering and people are wondering what is going on. In some of the major cities around the world, including New York and Los Angeles, an atmospheric disturbance occurs and gigantic alien crafts show up. All around the world, people are panicking. President Whitmore tries unsuccessfully to communicate via lights on a helicopter. David Levinson discovers that the alien ships are communicating via the Earth’s satellites, which is causing the television static. Levinson happens to have an ex-wife who works for President Whitmore, so he gets in to see him to tell him that the aliens have a countdown to destruction of the major cities. All the key players escape in the nick of time and end up in Area 51 to try and figure out how to defeat the invasion. It is this main plot of the evil aliens that drives the story. However, there are a couple of sub-plots involving a washed up alcoholic pilot played by Randy Quaid, who eventually redeems himself by figuring out what the aliens weakness is. There is also another story involving Captain Hiller’s stripper girlfriend, played by Vivica A Fox.
I have to say that my favorite parts of this movie are the panic and special effects that happen when areas around the world are obliterated. I also like the scenes in Area 51 where they are trying to dissect a live alien. I could watch this movie over and over, despite the 3 hour length.
Guess I really need a break now. I am too sleepy and now I am hungry. Got to eat again because I wasn’t able to eat much during lunch. Ace is watching a movie over lunch and I don’t have a choice but to glance one in a while on the TV. He knows I don’t like the movie because it’s a war movie but assured me it’s not too bloody. I was chewing when I glanced at the TV just in time that one soldier pinched the eye of another that it was so gross looking at it. I threw up and never came back in my plate again. I wasn’t full then but I really can’t swallow anymore so I told Ace I’ll eat again when I am hungry. Now its time to eat again as it is already merienda time. Gotta go. Be back when I am full.
