Typhoon Sendong (or international name WASHI) hit the northern part of Mindanao and cause flash flood that took almost one thousand lives. My family – daddy, sister, and BIL – were not spared from the flood but we are thankful they were able to quickly evacuate to the nearby 2-storey house. A lot of properties were damaged and my uncle’s car parked in the garage wasn’t spared. I am not sure if it will still run this time after it was submerged in flood water that consisted mostly of mud. I don’t think insurance will cover the damage since it is due to natural calamity. I hope insurance companies for autos, even RVs like the 5th wheel insurance, will include it in their policy to cover damages caused by natural calamity.
