It is Veteran’s Memorial Medical Center’s (VMMC) procedure that patients should provide all surgical materials that is needed for its own operation – that’s what I call PROVIDE YOUR OWN. I never ever thought there’s such hospital like that! So when Mamang was scheduled for operation the following day, we were given a lengthy list of things that we need to provide for the operation. Some items could be brought in the nearby pharmacy along North Avenue in Quezon City but others are so hard to find such as the gauze pad that measures more than a foot wide that is only available in Las PiƱas and the anesthesia that is bought in another hospital. Glad that my two aunts (Mamang’s sisters) are with us that time to buy those things in the list and it took them until almost midnight to complete the list. It was never really easy. I wonder how other patients managed to provide the surgical needs if they only have 1 or 2 watchers? Anyway, if only we are in US, we could have bought the items in Allegro Medical’s site because they have almost 55 thousand items and I am sure most of the things in Mamang’s list could be found there such as the surgilube (lubricating jelly). It would have been so easy for us and to other patients who will undergo a procedure at VMMC. How I wish Allegro has local retailer that could ship items instantly here in this part of the globe then I would love to shop in their site for our needs (because they have so many products to choose from not only life enhancing products but even supplements and gym/exercise needs). That would be a great help as we wouldn’t go out and shop. We’ll just shop from our homes.
