Chiseled body

IMG_7378

Ace took this photo during the Floral Float Parade in last year’s Kadayawan Festival. What is that body builder doing in the floral float parade?LOL. Anyway, the parade is also participated by other contingents such as from the business sector and I believe this guy is promoting a fitness gym. The crowd was beyond thrilled seeing this man. Oh, his muscles are not even half with the body builder I saw in one of my flickr© friend’s photo stream. I wonder what is with chiseled body (read: muscled body) that people are thrilled and happy about.

Honestly I don’t find it so impressive and attractive. Just simply toned muscles is enough but the bulging muscles all over the body as if they have put “pan de sal” underneath? That’s gross in my eyes, at least for me. Oh well, those people also deserved appreciation for the hard work in achieving such body with the rigorous gym workouts, the protein shakes listed in the www.musclemilkreview.org that they drink, the low carb and no fat diet that they strictly follow. Attaining such “chiseled” body (I call it chiseled because they seemed to be carved with chisel!) is not that easy!

Talk to the computer

One of my biggest fear is speaking in front of the public…ever since the world began. I am not really confident in standing in front of the public most especially if I don’t know the audience. Just give me a pen and a paper and write down what’s in my mind instead. I am more confident in that aspect. Just the thought of speaking in front of people brings butterflies in my stomach and my knees will definitely tremble once I start to speak. Then words will fly out of my mind one by one until I can’t think of the right words to say. So embarrassing! I know I can’t be a good public speaker like richard willich who has been known to address meetings, conferences or classes in different topics. But this is something I should address. How? I don’t know….because I’ve been staying at home just facing the computer most of the time. Should I then practice talking to my computer?LOL

Formal events

In a month’s time, formal events in school will start such as the JS prom, the graduation ball, etc…etc. Men would definitely look for tuxedo shirts in ukay-ukay stalls, at the mall, or even online! Others may be too practical to just rent it out from the bridal shops (because it’s the only place here that rents out tuxedos and other wedding apparel).

During my time, men are just required to wear long sleeved polo (with or without necktie). Our guys look so handsome even on those polos, how much more if they were wearing tuxedos?

In demand

Workers in medical field are in demand abroad. That explains why despite of the low salary of nurses in the country, thousands are still taking up nursing in the hope that they land a job abroad. Even professionals are taking nursing as a second course as the first step in going abroad without the hassle for countries in the west and Middle East are outsourcing nurses and other allied health workers from the country. Hence, schools offering nursing and allied health services are sprouting like a mushroom. Even an Agricultural school like my alma mater offers courses that are related to health services. Also,  medical assistant training school like Allied Health Institute are growing in number to accommodate the demand.

Watching movies at home

It’s been decades (of course this is an exaggeration!) since I and Ace watched a movie. Sometimes we love watching movies (yes, I am beginning to love it but I am too picky) but since the time that I started to doze off in the middle of a movie, he thinks it’s not worth it to pay for a good seat at the theater when I don’t watch the movie from start to finish. Hence we’re just watching movies at home. At one point he got himself a bluray (of course not the original one) copy of a movie and he loved the quality. Since then he makes sure what he gets are bluray copy and not the ordinary DVD copy. Of course I do have my share….he got me a Mamma Mia (my ever fave) and other movies that he thinks I would love (because I am more into love story, comedy and animated films). Speaking of movies, the last one that I watched and have laughed so hard is The Proposal. I hope to watch another one soon. It’s a great way to kill boredom.
